The CAD Club provides students with the opportunity to visualize design ideas using software like CATIA and
SolidWorks Members gain a deeper understanding of design through renderings and simulations to assess real-world
performance.
CAD is a key part of Digital Product Development (DPD) within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and integrates with
tools like Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM). It
aids in photorealistic rendering, motion simulation, and product data management (PDM).
Engineers use CAD for precise modeling, utilizing history, features, parameterization, and constraints to analyze properties
like tensile strength, stress, and environmental impact.
Our CAD project focused on developing a functional, lightweight bionic arm prototype.
This model integrates precise mechanics with an ergonomic, custom-fit design for improved user control.
The core challenge was modeling the multi-degree-of-freedom gripper mechanism
and ensuring seamless structural integrity for 3D printing.
The final design prioritizes modularity and uses advanced CAD analysis to optimize
weight distribution, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to medical device engineering.
Our CAD work focused on modeling a robust and efficient driveline system,
the critical component
that transfers power from the engine to the wheels in a vehicle.
Key models included the transmission shaft, the propeller shaft
with its universal joints, and the differential gear assembly.
The project prioritized designing components for optimal torque handling and minimal power loss,
showcasing precise tolerancing and stress analysis within the CAD environment.
Autodesk Design Challenge organised by IIT Kanpur where our VTOL model
secured 1st rank.
The team designed a VTOL drone in Autodesk Fusion 360.
One of the flagship events at COGNIZANCE’25,
the prestigious annual techfest of IIT Roorkee, where we secured 1st position.
The team designed a 3D model of a Smart City.
AutoDesk Design Challenge at IIT Kanpur Techfest 2025 (Techkriti)
where we secured 1st runner up.

CSWP Certifications
CSWA :
It is an entry-level certification for students and professionals seeking
to demonstrate proficiency in CAD design. The CSWA certification proves
foundational CAD skills, enhancing job prospects in engineering, product
design, and manufacturing. It helps employers identify candidates with verified
SOLIDWORKS proficiency, giving certified individuals a competitive edge.
CSWP :
The CSWP (Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional) Certifications
demonstrates advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, including complex part
modeling, assemblies, and design validation. It is highly valued in the industry,
boosting job prospects and credibility for mechanical and industrial designers.
